XA Report, Restrictions
Restrictions
There are some restrictions which should be mentioned.
Normally these restrictions will not affect the work with XA, although
their absence might improve the use of the application.
- only shell numbers from 1 to 20 and the orbital types S, P,
D and F can be processed.
- Access offers procedures to read data but not change it. There is
one exception: XASetNextShell (currently further "set" procedures are
not needed)
- only one atom can processed at one time.
If I had the possibility to start again, I would change
the following points:
- the global variables are a necessity, but in some procedure there is
also another approach possible. Please note: currently every global
variable is needed.
- the data structure can be simplified. Especially the LIFO order of orbital
types should be changed into FIFO, which is used for shells and data blocks.
Additionally, it might be better to change the linked list of data blocks
into an array structure.
