XA Online Documentation, XA Features "The best way to draw graphs"
What is the best way to draw graphs
The main area of your XA environment is occupied by the drawing space so you
are welcomed to make extensive use of this powerful feature.
Do you want to change the R/RA-values first?
Each time before you draw graphs you can change the R/RA-values. They tell
XA to which point of the x axis the graphs have to be drawn. If you do not
give any value, XA will automatically calculate appropriate ones and display
them after drawing the graphs. (The difference between R and RA is marginally,
so it is sufficent to change the R value only.)
How do I draw graphs?
Select the orbitals you like to draw in the Orbitals listbox. It does
not matter how many orbitals you choose. After that click on Draw Data
in the View menu or press Alt together with d. The
graphs will be drawn immediately.
How do I change the graphs?
Each time you select Draw Data only the orbitals selected in the
Orbitals listbox will be drawn. Please do not forget to change the
R value in the R-Value input box if you like to change the uppermost
x axis value.
When are graphs changed automatically?
- after a new pseudo orbital was created
To remain consistency in the drawing process all graphs will be deleted
and future graphs will be drawn with a slightly darker value marker to separate
them in legend from the previous ones. The best way is to
create pseudo orbitals before any call of Draw
Data.
- after a pseudo orbital was updated
Updated pseudo orbitals will be drawn automatically
if they were drawn before. This changes the other graphs accordingly.
- after deleting an orbital
All graphs will be deleted and future graphs
will be drawn with a slightly brighter value marker.
- after opening a new atomic data file
All graphs will be deleted.
